Summary of Role:
Our fun and supportive Finance team are looking for a new team member to join as Accountant! You should find the prospect of frequently being challenged exciting as well as enjoy solving problems and seeking process improvements, with the support of the team.
As Accountant, you will support our management accounting, payroll, tax and statutory reporting activities, ensuring adherence to deadlines. You will ultimately contribute towards the financial and reporting integrity of the business, to ensure the provision of quality and current information to the Leadership Team.
You will be primarily responsible for the Estonian and Belgian branch and subsidiary reporting entities and will also have responsibilities related to the UK parent company and other reporting entities.
Alongside other ad-hoc tasks and new responsibilities that will be crucial to the development of the role as the business expands, your day-to-day tasks will comprise the following:
- Monthly management accounts and annual local statutory accounts preparation for the Estonian and Belgian entities. You will make sure our accounts are up-to-date and properly backed up with underlying documents.
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- All local regulatory reporting for Estonia and Belgium – e.g. TSD, KMD, VAT, Statistics, Social Insurance. You are in charge to get the reports submitted by the deadline
- Preparation of the payroll information for review and onward submission to outsourced providers
- Supporting the A/P, A/R, payment and payroll functions in preparation and review.
- Assisting to provide analytical review and commentary for submission to the Group Accounting Manager
- Supporting the UK and other entities in daily, monthly, and annual activities such as payment runs, month-end reconciliations or other ad-hoc reporting, audit or due-diligence requests
- Involvement in projects and improvement initiatives by assisting the Group Accounting Manager in driving efficiency, development, control and accuracy within the team.
- Documentation of processes, identifying risks, weaknesses, mitigating controls and proper segregation
- Supporting the Group Accounting Manager with ad-hoc reporting, audit and due-diligence requests.
What we are looking for:
- You have higher education in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
- You are business-fluent Estonian speaker who is highly proficient in both spoken and written English.
- You have excellent Excel skills.
- You are confident to communicate to both internal and external stakeholders
What we consider a plus:
- Having worked in a multinational company before.
- Experience working with NetSuite.
- Familiar with issues relating to accounting, payroll, tax and reporting in Estonia (and/or UK).
